Worth the Wait - One Room Challenge Week 7

Week 7 has been a happy dancing kinda week because my area rug was finally delivered!

Say hello to “Rosemarie” in “Gold/Sage” from the Chris Loves Julia line at Loloi rugs. All I can say is, it was definitely worth the wait! The beauty is 3.7 x 5.7 in size and is absolutely stunning. I love the pops of gold and subtle hints of sage green and gray. It brings a total vintage vibe to the space which is exactly what I was looking for. (It’s also conveniently linked in my Amazon shop!).

To recap we have totally transformed this alcove at the bottom of our basement stairs into my new home office and this gorgeous Loloi rug is the icing on the cake! Not that the space wasn’t warm and cozy already with the mural, floors and brass lighting, now it’s cozy personified!

I also finally hung the cute mirror from Jervy. I decided to remove the brass hook and spray paint it black so it would blend on the black wall and it’s absolute perfection. I hung it with a Monkey Hook also painted black…..and the gorgeous barn door by Renin easily glides in front of it!

I also picked up two fun pieces yesterday, both from Local Makers. The first is this cute macrame plant hanger that is holding this lush (and fake) string of pearls…..of course it’s perfect for this windowless space. This was made by Knots of Love Macrame and is going to hang in the corner near the mirror, adding a cute pop of colour as well as bringing more warmth and texture to the space.

And the second piece is this gorgeous custom sign made by my friend Lisa at Little Gray Farmhouse. I sent her my logo and she created this master piece using an old skid. It is the most perfect modern rustic design for my new home office. We will get it hung up before the reveal next week.

So not a whole lot of excitement to share/show this week. I’ve been at the mercy of shipments coming from the states and luck has not been on my side. I’m awaiting one last delivery and still need to find a desk lamp which I think could happen today! Then I’ll be ready to style this space just in time for next weeks reveals. Who else is excited?? I’ll tell you who, all the Featured & Guest Designers over on the One Room Challenge website, go check them out and cheer them on.

And if you would like to catch up on our space, here are the previous weeks blog posts! I love hearing what you think!
